Prince Harry quit smoking right before moving in with Meghan Markle and it’s because the two wanted to start a family straight away, it’s being reported.
At the time, a royal insider spoke to the Daily Mail, saying: “Harry has promised no smoking at all at home.”
He added: “It’s not nice for Meghan as a non-smoker. So there’s no more hanging out of the window for a quick puff. Harry has quit for Meghan.”
It wasn’t just Harry who was making changes, Meghan had a lengthy checklist of formal procedures to learn as she joined the Royal Family which included mastering the manners required when meeting foreign representatives to learning the proper method of performing a curtsy.
It’s not all that surprising Meghan wasn’t a fan of Harry’s unhealthy hobby, she’s into yoga and running.
Queen Camilla also received encouragement to stop smoking from King Charles. It’s known that Charles briefly experimented with smoking during his school years, but the habit didn’t stick.
King George VI, the Queen’s father, succumbed to lung cancer, whilst George V, Edward VII and Edward VIII all battled smoking-related illnesses.

A lot has changed since those early days, Harry and Meghan now live in the US with their two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, three. The Sussexes were just in Colombia for four days to address online bullyng and the effects it can have on children.
They seemed to have a nice time based on the photos released, but that’s one of the criticisms, that their visit, which cost Colombia $2 million dollars in security, came across as a vacation.
The Sussexes are being urged to turn their speeches into tangible actions with Newsweek’s Jack Royston saying, “There is opportunity here for them if they can craft a way of actually helping parents with this problem.”
